Welcome to my portfolio site!

My name is Alexi Edwards and I’m an Australian spoken word artist originally from Boorloo (Perth) but now in Meanjin (Brisbane)

I got my start in poetry by performing at Perth Spoken Word as an open mic regular.

I am a spoken word artist first and a poet second with my poetry designed to punch hard and fast, so to get my poetry is best heard rather than read, so where possible I have included recordings of my pieces alongside the written form.

This website is designed as both a way to read (and preferably listen) to my work as well as a way to engage with me as an artist. So if you look at the navigator you’ll find the portfolio itself as well as: my bio page (with booking information), a calendar of upcoming events I plan to attend (whether to open mic or an a feature artist), as well as a page dedicated to my APS run during the months of June through to October (once APS finishes the pieces are moved to the portfolio).

Once again I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my artist page and will finish up in true Alexi fashion: I swear I’ll finish my zine eventually!!
